One of the primary skills that any open-water diver should master is that of underwater navigation. The process of maintaining orientation and getting around in the underwater world can be a challenge but is essential to safe, stress-free diving.
Despite their training, divers sometimes become disoriented on a dive and must surface or take other steps to regain proper orientation and return to the shore or boat. Our April/May 2009 safety survey is designed to explore the issues underwater navigation, including the types of navigational techniques and tools used by divers and the difficulties they occasionally encounter.
Please take a few minutes to visit our website and complete our safety survey. You’ll be doing your part to improve diver safety.
